Novelist James Barrie is quoted as saying, “Nothing is really work unless you would rather be doing something else.” Back in 2008 I spent my days working as a Marketing Manager; creating promotions, managing partnerships, and shuffling through the daily grind. It wasn’t until I began planning & executing a number of social & promotional events that I realized my passion for event planning and coordinating. To immerse myself more into the industry, I began working part time for our catering company as a day-of coordinator, managing weddings, mitzvahs, proms, and other social & corporate events ranging from 50-1,000+ people.
After my son was born in 2014 I decided that instead of going back to work, I was going to pursue my passion for all things events and started my own company, Brooke Melissa Events. What I love most about event planning is seeing my clients relax and enjoy themselves. I love seeing excited faces, happy smiles, and the chance to make my clients vision come to life. Planning a great event takes time and energy, not only prior to the big day, but during as well. I make it my mission to take the stress away from my clients in order for them to enjoy the process from start to finish.
I want to thank all of my past, current, and future clients for affording me the opportunity to stop “working” and continue doing what I truly love to do.
A little bit about me: I graduated from James Madison University in 2003 with my B.A. in Business Administration. I live in South Jersey with my husband and two sons. In my free time I enjoy immersing myself in an array of different art/craft projects and attending many of the awesome festivals and fairs South Jersey & Philadelphia have to offer. I run on soy latte’s, chocolate, & carbs… don’t judge. I am a horrible cook but awesome baker (hence the chocolate and carbs comment). My friends and family would say I have a great sense of humor, and I would say they’re right.
